Radiant Smile: Elissa Spiker St. Clair
Elissa Spiker St. Clair will forever be remembered for her radiant smile. With it, she was able to make friends wherever she went. Elissa displayed her smile cheering on her beloved West Virginia Mountaineers in college and when showing off her beloved dog, Rocky. She wore her dazzling smile instructing her parents the “Fins” dance at Jimmy Buffet concerts. While working as a speech and language pathologist near Charlotte, Elissa’s friendly personality and smile engaged both students and faculty in her school district.
Even after being diagnosed with Ewings sarcoma, Elissa faced each diagnosis and set back with her signature smile. Never wanting her family to worry, she shared even the bleakest news and updates with an optimistic attitude, positivity, and her glowing smile. Elissa left us on June 4, 2015 and as the 10 year anniversary of her passing is approaching, her family is grateful that her ‘Seasons of Life’ blossom is her favorite color, purple, and that her blossom in the Growing Hope through Art initiative is in the Spring season which is the “season of hope”. Elissa inspires us every day to keep the hope and to always wear a smile.
